Welcome back everyone!
I want to start off by saying I hope everyone is having a great 2013!!
Here is a little inside tour of my at home studio. This is explaining all the gear I have and showing you where my studio is in development. Hopefully this video will show you how small of an environment I am working in and how productive and successful this studio can be.
Check back after to view my next post where I start getting into some products and gear available on the market. This is when we will start to build your at home studio!

Quick correction for when I'm talking about the Saffire's inputs.
ReplyDeleteI say there are 8 inputs in the back of the interface but really there are 6. The other two inputs are located on the front of the interface. These are audio inputs and can also act as DIs.
I think you have a good start but man, I feel for you. How is it when you have to record vocals while the train is passing so often?
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice setup Ben, I like the way the focusrite preamps sound on that pro 40. Do you have a vocal booth setup?
ReplyDeleteI'll upload some vocals I've recorded at some point. Honestly it's a hit or miss with the train. I've definately had some sucessful takes, but without a booth its hard. The plan is to build a mobile vocal booth that attatches to the mic stand.
ReplyDeleteHey Ben, nice post. I have a question. Is your M audio interface connected via Midi or 1/4" out? If it's connected via midi remember that what's coming out of the controller and what's going into pro-tools is not audio it's 1's and 0's. Digital representations. Let me know when you get a chance. Good post though, I'd like to get me something like that focusrite. I NEED more inputs.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a cool setup.
ReplyDeleteGreat video. I'm very interested in your upcoming post about monitors. Also, I would love to hear some of the recordings that you've done.
ReplyDeleteCool set up B. I know you got big plans to get another mic. Whats your next vocal mic going to be?
ReplyDeleteRich, that Venom is a synthesizer as well as a MIDI controller, so when I have it connected with 1/4" cables, its getting the signal from the keyboard itself, when connect with MIDI we're talking 1s and 0s.
ReplyDeleteReese, my next mic will hopefully be the Blue Baby Bottle. I feel this mic sound great on vocals as well as guitar.
